Little Known Facts:
* Prior to joining films Shahid went by the name,
Shahid Khattar. (Khattar being his step father's
last name)
* Shahid was offered the role of Karan Singhania
in the 2006 Blockbuster, Rang De Basanti, but
since he was filming for Shikhar, he could not
do it.
* Shahid was offered Vivek Oberoi's role in the
2004 Dharma Productions film, Kaal.
* Shahid was the second choice for his roles
in both Ishq Vishk and Vivah. In both films he
replaced Sammir Dattani.
* Shahid always makes sure he has classic blue
jeans and white t-shirts when he travels
* When Shahid first saw the Ishq Vishk Promo
on television, he cried.
* Shahid was a member of the acclaimed Shamiak
Daver dance troupe as a teenager and can be seen
as a background dancer in the song " Kahin
Aag Lage" from the 1999 film, Taal.
* Attended SDIPA (Shiamak Davar's Institute for
Performing Arts). Shahid was judged best dancer
among 1300 contestants in an organized event.
* Shahid's parents divorced when he was three
years old. As a child, he continued to live with
his mother and was until recently not close with
his father.
*He became a vegetarian after reading a book
on life and its many facets.
